Growing up in the small harbor town of Västervik in Southern Sweden, Bjorn took an interest in photography from a very early age, but actually started his studies in engineering realizing quite quickly that photography was his true passion. In order to pursue photography, he moved to Oslo, Norway to assist photographers like Knut Bry, among others. After three years in Oslo, he made the decision to try his hand in New York so, he packed a big bag and moved. A few months later, he began assisting Brigitte Lacombe, a relationship that would last for many years. Later, he also worked with Albert Watson and Frederick Lieberath.

While assisting, Björn was always working on his own projects, eventually developing his talent and style in the two areas he enjoys the most, portraits and interiors.

Over the last seven years, Björn has contributed to publications including Elle Décor, Martha Stewart, Oprah, Departures, House Beautiful, New York Magazine, Flaunt, Dwell, and Real Simple. He has also shot for Pottery Barn, American Express, Wedgwood, and Infinity.

Björn resides in NYC with his dog Ella. When he's not shooting, he's either hiking or sailing somewhere beautiful.
